I Know
It's A Weird Concept, But Boys Actually Do Have Feelings
One of my male friends just denied this. (Then again he says he's only ever
cried once during any show--the MASH episode where Col. Blake died--so he may
not be the best judge.) Nevertheless, I guess I better redefine my terms.
Women tend to assume that when a man does something he knows exactly how
it's going to affect her and he does it consciously. But men are just as confused
about this dating stuff as women are. Men get nervous and men get shy and men
have pride and men have been hurt, etc. etc. And these things influence their
actions as much as they influence ours. So these are the kinds of feelings I'm
talking about. When a guy does something that seems weird or wrong or mean don't
just instantly get defensive--take a second to figure out what motivated it. Then
get defensive.
