-> Bio / Comments:	One of the strongest names in the Washington, DC drum'n'bass scene, Ransom has been involved locally since the mid-90s, playing the DC/Baltimore club/rave circuit since the spring of 1998. He didn’t hesitate to taking his style on the national circuit in the summer of 1999 with bookings in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Miami, New York City, Boston, Philadelphia, Oakland, San Jose, Atlanta, Pittsburgh, Richmond, Charlotte, Raleigh-Durham, and Buffalo. He’s been spotted playing events and clubs such as Platinum, Eklektic, Quest, Buzz/Sting, Drum and Bassics, and Phuturo/Phuncktion. Ransom regularly plays alongside and holds his own with many of the top UK and US Djs, such as Dieselboy, Dj Lee, Ed Rush + Optical, )EIB( a.k.a. Bad Company, Dara, UFO!, Sage, Juju, Trace, Fierce, Hive, and many more. A true fan of the music, he is consistently pushing quality drum'n'bass, especially in his hometown. A co-founder of the successful Act Your Age weekly, held every Wednesday night in downtown DC for over a year and a half, Ransom also has a background in both college and internet radio, promoting drum'n'bass on several different levels, serving as the list admin for the DCDNB list serv, and maintaining DCDNB.org, a drum'n'bass news portal. Currently he has been working on producing in his home studio, working solo and with Benko (Modified / Step Syndicate, DC). In the past he has worked with established artists such as UFO! (Phunckateck / Commercial Suicide / Violence Recordings, SF/NYC), Rob F + Impulse a.k.aSinthetix (DSCI4 / Renegade Hardware / No U-Turn / Negative / Subtitles, DC). Ransom continues to support and assist, as the drum'n'bass specialist at Capital City Records, and while the Act Your Age weekly has ended, Ransom is working closely with State-Side Productions to present DC with a new party for the dnb community, VOLUME. Ransom has also invested much time in the organization and production process of the always-successful dnb rooms for the DC Skillz series of massive one-offs in the DC area. The first venture, Project Mayhem in May 2002, featured the Act Your Age (AYA) residents alongside internationally known producers Klute and Juju. Following that was GAZM! on August 24th, and featured Philadelphia's Kaos, Dj Sine, and Expanse, alongside the AYA residents and local favorites John Tab and Dj Caz. The next two events are already booked and are being promoted: November 2nd - Thriller, featuring Hive, Echo, and UFO! on the Violence Recordings Tour, plus Fierce from the UK, the AYA residents, and Locks; and December 21st - Avalanche, featuring Marcus Intalex and Dylan, plus Nightstalker from LA. Ransom holds residencies at Superclique's monthly 2 step + dnb event VARISPEED (first Wednesday of each month), dnb event production outfit VOLUME (next event will begin in June with a montly takeover of the drum'n'bass room DC Skills' DESTINATION event), events put on by the DCDNB.org news portal, and continues with other bookings in the local metro area, and abroad. Ransom has also been collecting nu skool breaks for almost 2 years now, and is occasionally playing them out at local events.
