This little island packs quite the punch. Treasure Island (TI for short) has a fascinating history and an exciting future. It was constructed for the 1939–1940 Golden Gate International Exposition and later used for military training and various purposes. Today, it is being developed into a new neighborhood with plans for hotels, housing, retail spaces, and parks. The island offers a gorgeous San Francisco skyline view, and there are many things to do, such as riding the ferry, taking in the view along Avenue of the Palms, enjoying brunch at Aracely Cafe, playing bocce ball at Mersea, getting a sandwich at Island Cove Market, visiting the Treasure Island Museum, indulging in drinks at various spots, renting a kayak or paddleboard, and picnicking on the beach at Clipper Cove. Cyclists can also ride from Oakland to Treasure Island on the Bay Bridge East Span Path. This little island has a lot to offer and is constantly evolving.
